Workshops
BASIC INTRODUCTION
This can be adapted to the needs of your organization. For instance, a 15 minute talk for a civic club breakfast/lunch meeting, a 20-30 minute introduction to a garden club or community club. There is no cost for these introductory talks, but I would ask for the opportunity to promote upcoming workshops, sales of books and Square Foot Gardening materials, and basic consulting services.
SQUARE FOOT GARDENING BASIC WORKSHOP
This is an in-depth, 3 hour workshop that covers all of the basics of the SFG method, provides the learner with the primary information to create their own Square Foot Garden boxes and have a successful growing season in just a few square feet.
The cost for the workshop is $35 dollars per person and includes a copy of the All New Square Foot Gardening Book by Mel Bartholomew, and numerous helpful handouts.
SQUARE FOOT GARDENING MINI-WORKSHOP
This is a fast moving, one hour workshop that quickly touches the basics of the Square Foot Gardening method. The learner will get a good overview of the system, but will need to do some further reading and study to effectively start their own SFG. The cost for the mini-workshop is $10 dollars per person and includes some helpful handouts. There will be opportunities to purchase books and other materials at the workshop. (Discounts will apply for groups that register 10 or more persons)
HANDS ON WORKSHOPS
These will be offered a couple of times per year. They are meant for those who have gone through the Basic Workshop and are meant to extend learning on topics such as “Extending the Seasons,” “Vertical Gardening” and “Portable Square Foot Gardening.” These will generally be 2-3 hour workshops that will include building and constructing boxes, trellises and season extending frames in an outside location. Costs will be determined for each separate workshop.
